Microsoft Security Vulnerability

I read in the paper today that Microsoft Corp. has taken the rare step of
warning about a serious computer security vulnerability it hasn't fixed yet.
It can allow hackers to remotely take control of victims' machines. This has
happened to me the last time Microsoft had a 'hole' in it's security. They
suggest "users to disable the problematic part of its software, which can be
done from Microsoft's Web site, while the company works on a patch for the
problem."
How do you do this?

You don't. You wait for the patch and, in the meantime, don't use
Internet Explorer. Use Firefox, Seamonkey or Chrome that doesn't have
this vulnerability.
