I would really appreciate some more information on the MS Script Editor.

I have seen that under Tools, Macro it is there but greyed out. This
remains to be the case in any word document even if I have highlighted the
text.

My question is that does it only run with scripts or should it work with
normal word documents as well. If it works with normal documents what would
be the reason why it is greyed out, I do believe it is installed as matter of
fact I downloaded it from MS website and installed it again on that machine
but did not make a difference.

I am running MS Office 2003 with the question related to MS Word and OS is
Win XP.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks
Dave

Hi Dave,

There is a version of the MS Script Editor included with Office/Word 2000, 2002(XP) and 2003. It is an optional installation
feature from the Microsoft Office or Word choice in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel. It's primary function was to
view/edit source for Word HTML documents, but if the feature is installed through Office it should, normally, be avaialable even in
a new, blank, Word docuemtn.

(MS Script editor is disconnected in Word 2007)
