microsoft producer 2003

Hi.

I need to convert .ppt or .pps files into video (avi, mpeg, and so on).

I have been trying Microsoft Producer 2003 for Powerpoint, but after doing
some tests, now I can't open any .ppt or .pps file. It always says this
message:

"C:\temp2\Active.ppt could not be imported. Microsoft Producer was unable to
import the Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. See the topic Working with
Microsoft PowerPoint presentations in the Microsoft Producer Help for more
information."

I have tried to uninstall and install it again but it was useless.

By the way, in c:\temp2 there is no any other file than Active.ppt.

Question 1: could you tell me something about this problem?

Question 2: Could you recommend me any free software (or not very expensive)
to convert powerpoint files into video?
