microsoft outlook 2007 too slow

I have being using microsoft outlook 2003 successfully for several years and
have just upgraded to microsoft 2007 plus business contact manager. It is
slow can you please help. I have just defragged the HD but this has not made
any difference.

My details are as follows:

Processor -1500mhz
hard disk 40gb
ram memory 504mb
 
Define slow. What exactly is slow and when doing what? Note that your system
specifications are on the low side, if not minimal, as well.
