Microsoft Optical Blue" Mice

E

Eon D.

I am having some strange difficulties with some mice our
company recently purchased. They are "Microsoft Optical
Blue" Mice.
Here's what's happening:
-some mice are moving buy themselves, clicking and opening
up menus randomly
-some mice don't work while plugged into the USB port
-they DO work when I plug them into to the PS2 port, but
they still move by them self

Here are some of our details:
-The machines they are connected to are Windows 2000
machines and Windows 98 machines.
-They are using the latest drivers
-Some users are in the same room about 8 feet away, could
this a transmission/receiver issue?
-All the PCs are IBM NetVista - 1 Ghz and higher

Any information you can give me would be great!

Thanks

Hi mate

Can't tell from your msg, but if these are cordless or
infra red mice, that is your problem

We had a situation were 7 draftsmen were working in the
same office and funny things started happening on guys
monitors.

The mice have such a wide transmition / pickup range that
it influens other workers with the same sort of mice in
the office. We moved the people to different spots on that
floor avoiding line-of-site between the mice

cheers
