I cannot back up my money file to CD now that I have
started to use XP. I get the message that I am not
authorised or some such and telling me to put it in My
Documents. As the whole point of backing up is to avoid
the C drive, is there any way around this please?

How are you trying to back it up? Using what program to burn the file to the
cd?

This is too easy...
Back-up to the C: directory.
Copy to CD-ROM (or if small to diskette or both)
Remove back-up from the C:
