Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 823439

Any solution for this... Chk disk, after reboot, says
cannot access volume, skips the check and continues to
boot the computer.

Check back the link periodically.
When/if there is a fix, it will most likely appear there.
 
Maybe I am wrong but the Knowledge Base Article has a
date of Last Reviewed: 8/14/2003 (1.0)
Thought maybe someone had come up with something in the
last 10 months.

I saw that, unfortunately that is all there is, at least officially
from Microsoft.
 
Uninstalled Zone alarm, and chk disk runs on boot now.
Went to Zone Alarm message and help boards, they are
aware of the problem with the new upgrade. No Fix Yet.
