Rebuilt my system last week.
Since then, when I run Access 11, I get the following two dialogs:
=======================================================
"Security Warning: Unsafe expressions are not blocked.
Do you want to block unsafe expressions?"
=======================================================
(click "No")
=======================================================
"Security Warning: Unsafe expressions are not blocked.
To block unsafe expressions, Microsoft Jet 4.0 Service Pack 8 or later must be
installed.....""
"Microsoft Jet 4.0 Service Pack 8 or later must be installed to block unsafe
expressions without affecting common functionality."
=======================================================
Reading the second dialog, it sounded like the service pack can be D/L'd from
http://WindowsUpdate.com... but when I got there, first it won't talk to Mozilla
and then, when IE was pointed at it, there seemed tb no way to just download the
SP.
Only option seems tb windows auto updating.
But I already have that in place and it's been doing it's thing since
I rebuilt the system last week.
Actually, I have something that I have labeled as "Jet Service pack 4.0 for XP
(WindowsXP-KB829558-x86-ENU).exe left over from prior builds.
But when I try to execute it, it says
-------------------------------------------------------------
"Setup has detected that the Service Pack
version of this system is newer
than the update you are applying.
There is no need to install this update"
--------------------------------------------------------------
Indeed, the file's props dialog says "File version: 5.3.23.4" and that's a lot
less than 8....if, indeed, it refers to the SP level...
Bearing in mind that I already have "Windows Update" installed and running since
day 1 of the build, does anybody got a suggestion for my next move?
