microsoft internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close

I get this message constantly and then my "lexplore" is closed down. I don't know what this means or how I can fix it. Can anyone help me?
 
At what point does IE close down? Check if popup blocker, anti-virus or
firewall is interfering with the operation of IE. Temporarily close the
programs one at a time.
