A couple of days ago I started having a problem accessing the Internet. It will try to access and a dialogue box with the following message comes up.

"Microsoft Internet Explorer
Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem & needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.
(check/uncheck box) Restart Microsoft Internet Explorer
Please tell Microsoft about this problem

I have tried to reinstall Internet Explorer and downloaded all the patches I can for the product and done an anti-virus check on the entire system. Nothing I have done makes a difference. I can clear the dialogue box. But that drops me out of Explorer completely. Since I have two systems connected via a router I can access the web from the second system. But it isn't convenient to do so.
Does anyone have any idea what has happened to my Internet Explorer? How can I reload or reintialize my Microsoft Internet Explorer?

Thanks

To test with: Disable third-party browser extensions in Internet Explorer
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Internet Options.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. Under Browsing, clear the Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart) check box.
5. Restart Internet Explorer.

I have been experiencing the same problem for the past
three days now. I notice that many others in this news
group have reported the same problem and that it seems to
have just started to occur over the past 2-3 days. I have
tried what many of you have tried to no avail.
Reinstalled IE 6 & SP1. Defragmented disk, scan disk,
etc. and nothing seems to fix the problem. Could this
possibly be caused by Mydoom worm even though I supposedly
have not been infected by the worm/virus? I finally had
to download and install Netscape and it works, but this
has its shortcomings since many sites and vendors no
longer support Netscape. Any suggestions would be
helpful. Sent the report off to Microsoft from ther error
box but I have no idea where it goes, if it even goes
anywhere. Says it has been sent however. Thanks for any
suggestions.

I've ran into the exact same problem with the exception of
IE working fine for a couple of days and as of late last
night the same error. I did send the "error" and clicked
on another box with a link that gave me this "Cannot find
the 'http://oca.microsoft.com/resedir.asp?
SID=780&BucketTable=1&Bucket...blah, blah, blah"
I'm trubled with the fact it's been and on and off thing
for a week now. Has anybody found a solution?
