I am not sure where to post my question.
I have 2 versions of the Microsoft .NET framework on my
computer. The versions are v1.0.3705 and 1.1 . I had to
install one of those versions when I used Visual
Basic .NET for school. I uninstalled VB and I need to
know which framework can I remove without having
problems. I don't even know what the .NET framework is so
do I need it at all? They are very large and take up lots
of room, please help.
Laura

If you have no programs that use the .net framework, then you can get rid of
it all. Windows, at this point, does not need this. It only needs to be
installed if you have apps that require it.

1.1 is the most recent version.

I don't know what applications require the framework, so
I don't know if I need it. I have Windows XP PRO and I
have Office 2003 PRO installed, if that helps. I use msn
messenger if it has anything to do with that. I'm going
to uninstall the older version right now.

None of those do. In fact very few do. For my system the only one is
Drive Image 7.

AFAIK, though, more will be coming out using it. There is nothing wrong
with having it installed.

If you needed it you'd know because the program would install it or tell you
to install it. Hardly any programs need it yet, so more than likely you
don't need it right now, although it doesn't hurt to keep it either.

I think I'm going to keep the version 1.1 on there just
in case. I will uninstall the old version. Thanks all for
your help!
