I wouldn't say they dumped him, they may have considered what he did to
be a luxury and eliminated that luxury during restructuring. Certainly
they knew how well he did his job - it was the job itself that they
evidently had to rethink. As the economic trend continues, you will see
more and more of this sort of thing happening.

I met him a few years back and he just reenforced my position that
Microsoft is too arrogant to properly secure their products. YMMV.

That may be so...

Anyway, he may have been more valuable to us, than to them.
