So there I was wanting to get down to some coding on my new PC with XP
Professional inc SP2.

Installed Java SDK1.4.6, installed Codewarrior 7, go to compile even just
"Hello World" and hey presto "Can't Initialise Java VM - Make sure Java SDK
is installed"

Worked fine on our old SP1 system, so what have Microsoft done to screw up
Java THIS time, and why are they so anticompetitive that they won't even let
you CODE in a non-microsoft language?

Not sure, but I believe you need version 5 of the JDK to work correctly with
SP2.

They haven't included Java in XP because they were sued by Sun Microsystems
who make the original Java - "Microsoft Java Virtual Machine" is not
included in Windows XP.

If you need java download the Sun Systems version.
