Where would you get a Microsoft Developer, I thought it came with MS Office
Pro, but I cant find it!

Thanks in advance.........Bob Vance

what edition?

2000? 2002?

I dont think that it's an option for Office 2003; maybe they just
changed the name or something.. I htink that perhaps it's included in
Visual Studio Tools for Office in 2003.

Check out MVP Tony Toews' web page on the subject
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/developereditionversions.htm. Prior to the
current Access 2003, there was a Developer Edition of Office which included
the necessary software to generate a package with your database plus runtime
support. With 2003, the runtime support and package generation became part
of Visual Studio Tools for Office 2003 System.

The capability to create an install package that includes runtime support
has never been included in any version of Office Pro.

If you're currently using Access XP or earlier, and want to continue to do
so, you might find a Developer Edition at an online auction site such as
eBay, at an attractive price. I'm not aware of any retail sources of
software in my area that _stock_ Visual Studio Tools for Office 2003 System,
but it's possible, YMMV.
