Microsoft decides how i will be using valuable screen real estate

Why does microsoft think they know best how to allocate my valuable
display real estate? Why can't i configure IE 7 with one thin toolbar
at the top with the buttons i want in the order i want?

I recently used a vista machine and after all the flare and hub-ub i
ended up with a document about 6 inches high, on a 17" display. The
rest of my space was dedicated to who knows what! I couldnt keep my
eyes focused on any one thing long enough to see what was going on.
After a few minutes of that and i had to self medicate!

just my thoughts

Well, if you had right-clicked on any of the bars you could have
deselected those you didn't want. But that wouldn't have been as much
fun, would it? You just wanted to complain about MS.

Installing Google, Yahoo and Dog alone knows what other
tool bars doesn't help much either.

The Full Screen tab is worth being aware of.

Right clicking the command bar opens various options
to reclaim your real-estate.

Get shot of Google and Yahoo tool bars if you have them
and get to know your Full Screen Tab.

Here's another thought. Learn how to use software before complaining
about it.

What's wrong there Iron, didn't get any from the Wife last night? You sure
are cranky

With default settings, the actual web content display on my machine is
approx. 35cm X 24cm (13.8" X 9.4) on a 17" monitor.

What was the screen resolution?

branding mostly.
you can use F11 to make it full screen and/or auto hide the tool bars.

Who do you think you are? Tell you what.

As long as OP is a paying customer, he/she gets the right to complain;
rightfully or wrongfully, it's the company to decided, not your or anyone
else's business.

As long as Microsoft is in the business of selling products and accepting
money from its customers, it has the obligations to listening customer
complaints but not necessary to follow everyone.

If any company doesn't want customer complaints, fine, don't take his/her
money and keep the product in the lab for worship.

Anyone chooses to complain here instead of other official channels, it's
his/her choice as a customer and this is Microsoft's newsgroup, not yours or
anyone else's right. Get one and be your own boss unless you can't.

One more thing, don't think you're superior than anyone else just you know a
few things about computers. People have talents and knowledge beyond your
imaginations.

Get a life!

Whether I have a life is certainly none of your business. When someone
blames MS because he is totally ignorant about removing unwanted tool
bars from IE7, everyone has the right to point out the error of his
statement. Or could it be that you didn't notice that the subject of
this thread is false.

If you want to be the champion of ignorance and stupidity, be my guest.

If you only have 6". either someone or the OEM set the computer that
way.
I have about 6.5" out of a height of about 9"
In any case, Microsoft or the OEM set the defaults, after all
something needs to be set.
From there you can customize to suit your own needs.
Are there extras such as Google toolbar, Yahoo, etc that are not part
of IE-7?

Again, you have absolutely no position of criticizing any user for any
reasons.

You want to help, help. Don't want to, no one forces you.

You don't work for the company, and even you do, until the day you are
qualified to make decisions for this newsgroup and/or as an official
spokesperson (which based on your attitude, you will never be there), you
can speak for no one but yourself.

You condemn people for stupidity? LOL. You have no idea for what are you
talking about.

But your behavior already told everyone about who you are. I don't use
words like that because I know people using those words are actually
describing themselves.

Had the original poster asked how to remove unwanted tool bars, I would
have had no problem and would have been one of many providing the answer
to the question.

Instead, he chose to say, "Microsoft decides how i will be using
valuable screen real estate", which is pure BS.

Now, as for your statement that I make decisions for this newsgroup, you
have shown a complete lack of understanding as to how newsgroups work.
I have never made any statement that indicates my opinion is anyone's
but my own.

Now, run along. You've solved absolutely nothing.
