Good morning everyone !

Last night I updated my monsterous A97 database on all 50 users, and this
morning I find that lots of them have problems with the Microsoft DAO 3.5
reference.

This is not unusual, usually I scoot around the building like a fool,
unticking the reference, and then re-ticking it which always solves the
problem.

On the good side I get a nice walk, but I'd like to know how to solve this
so I can take a walk when I choose.

Not sure if it has any relevance, but its usually good to give as much info
as possible, the file is called DAO350.DLL

Thanks for any help

Paul

When you say you "updated" your A97 database, do you mean you converted it
to a later version? If so, you need to change the reference to DAO 3.6
instead.

If you mean that you released an update to your application still in Access
97, the problem suggest that your development machine is using a different
version of DAO 3.5 than the user's machines have. You could test this by
locating the dll, right-clicking, and looking on the Version tab. If the
versions are difference unregister the older version and register the later
one instead.

More info on the references for each version of Access, and how to
re-register libraries:

I mean the latter as in I released an update to your application still in
Access
97.

I checked the files on my computer and one of the client PC's and they are
both version 3.50.3428.0, however one was created on 31/7/97 @ 23.00.00 and
the other at 01/08/97 @ 00.00.00.

Looks like this one hour makes all the difference.

On my next release I'll make sure everyone has mine.

Thanks for your help
