Microsoft Backup for Windows XP

I backed up data onto zip disk using my Windows 98
computer using Microsoft Backup which created .qic files.
I now want to restore these files on my Windows XP
computer. I installed the backup utilitiy from the
Valuadd directory on the Windows XP CD but this program
does not recognize a .qic file type. How do I restore
them?

You may have success restoring Win 9X backups (.qic files)

In this case the OP misused the back-up application.
Back-up is exactly what it suggests.
Back-up in case something happens and the data has to be restored on
the same computer.

For moving data to a new computer, simply copying the data or using
the Files and Settings Transfer wizard to move the data is more
appropriate:
