Microsoft AntiSpyware - date/time bug ?

Hi,

I noticed what I think is a bug in the AntiSpyware scheduler. It's hardcoded
based on an AM/PM preference, but in locations where AM/PM isn't used ( 24hr
clock ), you get to choose to start the full spyware scan at f.ex. 19:00, and
it's set to 07:00 AM ( never PM ), which isn't quite what the user asked for.

If anyone from the AntiSpyware division at Microsoft reads this message,
please try setting your preferences to f.ex. Iceland ( which uses a 24hr
clock ) and try setting the run time at 7 in the evening ( which won't work ).

Please consider this a formal request for a bug fix ( it is a beta after all
:) )

And a happy new ( "western" hemisphere ) year.

Hello Der Tosi

From: "Tom Emmelot"
yes it is a bug, workaround if your outside the USA:

Go to start/Control Panel/Country settings
Change Language to US English.
Click on Apply
Open MSAS change all your time settings the way you wont.
Click on "Update Schedule"
Then go back to set your default Language.
MSAS will scan and update on the right time!
Don't Click "Update Schedule", anymore, then it go's back to the AM
times again!

Thanks for the sentiments!

This bug is well understood, and will be fixed in beta2.

There's a workaround if you want to use the scheduler to schedule something
for a PM time:

set your Windows language setting to English (United States)

Then set the schedule desired.

Then set the language setting back to your normal choice.

The scan should take place as scheduled.

This works because English/US has a 12 hour clock format. Any 12-hour clock
format works, any 24 hour clock format evidences the bug.

Thank you Bill and Engel for your tips.

I could schedule the scan for dinnertime ( which is the most apropriate time
for students :) )

Good going. I look forward to Beta2. Thanks :)

Hello,

that's wonderful.

I have this problem, too. I buy DOS and Windows 1.0 or old-BTX now.
This was also in english. English is fine.

I live in Germany !!!!!

I am waiting for Beta2 and use Beta1-Version4 now.

Thx Jana
