My former instructor came to the office to show my volunteer how to do mail
merge using Access. Now I cannot enter my database. I get message: you do
not have permission to open this object - contact administrator or the person
who created this object for permission. I am the administrator & the person
who created the database. Please help! I need access to proficiently
operate my business!

Hi Teresa

Please try one of the Access News Groups:

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.access

Look in the same folder as the database file is located. Look for a
NameofDatabase.LDB file. If you see one it means the database is still open
from another machine (if it is located on a LAN) or for some reason that LDB
file did not get deleted when the last person exited the database. If you
are sure no one is in the file, you need to delete the file. This often is
caused because the person accessing the file does not have delete rights to
the directory or the machine is turned off without closeting out of MS
Access.

If this does not work, or if you have other MS Access questions I
suggest the microsoft.public.access newsgroup.

I tried going to the address you gave me but I kept getting the message:
Could not send something about a News Account.

You'd find life a whole lot easier if you used a dedicated newsreader, eg
Outlook Express Newsreader, that is likely installed on yr system.
Then set up newsgroups eg msnews.microsoft.com
