Microsoft Access communicating with the OLE Server

I am having problems when I add an event procedure on the On change event for
a field on my form. When I click on this drop down, I get this message "The
expression On Change you entered as the event property setting produced the
following error: A problem occurred while Microsoft was communicating with
the OLE Server or ActiveX Control." I have re-installed Access 2000 many
times and it still doesn't work, I rebooted too. Any ideas on what to do to
get rid of the annoying message?

I have the same problem but in an afterupdate! I have tried everything, even
formating tha computer! did u already find the cause?
Please help us, im desperating!!!!
