Microsoft 2000 - How to uninstall with dual O/S

Currently running 2000 Professional and Win ME.

I wish to unistall Pro so I can install XP over ME.

Any advice on how to do this?

Any reason for not doing a clean install of Windows XP after deleting
Windows 2000 Pro and ME, and wiping the HD? If anything else, I'd
rather install Windows XP over 2000 instead of ME.
