Microsft PowerPoint charts

Will someone please explain how I can create a chart in powerpoint with seven
columns declining in height occording to years

Choose slide layout "title & content (usually number 7)
Click on the graph icon
Delete the data in the data sheet

Under "A" type in "year 7" (or whatever), B type in "year 6" etc
In the next line type in the values maybe 7 in A1, 6 in B1 etc
Click anuwhere off the chart/datatable
