microphone connected to socket properly

microphone is connected to socket properly i do not have
the instructions manual that came with the computer and
cant find out if its muted in the control panel im when i
run the microphone setup wizard it does not allow me to
record and test my speech any help with this 1 guys??

line as though that is an answer.

You don't have a manual and don't bother to look for one
on-line.

Your writing style is failing a 6th grade level.

Open the control panel. The find the classic style or type
a search term, sound or microphone or audio control and see
what you can find.

Well I had the same problem and scanned about 40 or 50 of these messages and found that no one ever solved there problem and got back to the group. Either they solved the problem and didn't have the courtesy to let others know how they did it or they are still fumbling around with the same unsolved mystery. Well I'm here to tell you that I solved my problem by downloading the latest version of DirectX 9.0b. The mike is working great now! Hope this helps all you other people
