Mic Boost doesn't stay enabled in Vista

Hi, i am using Vista Business edition. I have a problem whereby the mic boost
option in windows vista will not stay on after every restart despite enabling
it repeatedly.

This problem has been reported by a few users on internet forums already,
without any solution.

I suspect its my motherboard incompatibility with Vista as some users
experiencing the same problem as me have the same mobo - AN8.

Is there any script that i can run on startup that re-enables the mic boost
option so that i do not have to do it manually?

My personal experience with this microphone issue with Vista has shown
that it was entirely due to having an audio driver that was not yet
fully ready for Vista. I suffered this problem for 3 months until I
installed a new version of Sigmatel's audio driver (for my Intel
motherboard's onboard sound) that became available on Intel's web site
just over two weeks ago. Make sure that you have the latest audio driver
for your (onboard or offboard) sound. Then, if you are still having
microphone volume problems, check regularly for availability of an
updated driver. Nothing but a fully Vista-ready audio driver is likely
to solve your problem.

Duh me, never even thought of that, i had downloaded the newest when i
installed, but there has been a new one since then, installed newest driver
and that seems to hace fixed it

Good luck with it. The real test is to see if your settings stick the
way you left them through multiple startups of Windows.
