I posted an inquirey before because of an error message; - "Windows delay
write failed. d:\$Mft"

The reply I got back was that the D drive was probably ready to fail. I ran
CHKDSK on it and it did not correct the situation. Was given three choices.
Contact the manufacturer for a repair program, leave it a lone but not trust
the drive because it might fail or turn off the delay write for that drive.

I am rather unlearned in handling this depth of attributes (turning on or
off the delayed drive delayed write.) and I am wondering if you would be
able to give me some direction as to how to do this.

I removed athe partition a short while ago and re loaded the partition when
I reinstalled windows. I had backed up the drive using Roxio update and
reinstaled the files using this back up scheme.

Finally would it be your recommendation to just replace the drive at this
point since I do have sensative information on it. That was the original
reason for installing the drive

Thank you,

Luckeyo

start->run->devmgmt.msc [enter]
Expand the disk drives branch. Double click the problem child. Go to the
policies tab. Towards the bottom, uncheck 'Enable write caching...".

Personally, I'd replace the drive although there are some legit reasons why
write caching can have issues outside of actual HD hardware problems.
