Hello,

On startup, I've been getting error messages saying that a certain process
cannot run because mfc71.dll cannot be found.

I looked around and found a free download of mfc71.dll on www.dll-files.com.
I've downloaded it and unzipped it, but I don't know where to put it.

Please advise.

Put it in your Recycle Bin until you know which application (good or bad) is
looking for it.

You may not want this on your computer. It could be legitimate or it could
be associated with a spyware program.

What process is asking for it? Do a thorough cleaning of your system for
malware.

Thanks, Guys,

AVG Antivirus was looking for it, wouldn't work without it.

I solved the problem by rolling the register back.

An anti-malware program (Spybot maybe?) found a trojan horse today. I've
never been infected with malware before. I'm on my apple machine now, can't
remember. the name of the trojan. It has been removed. I don't know if this
is a coincidence. What do you think?

Is www.dll-files.com a trustworthy site?

Thanks again,

Tim
