MFC with fax AND networking?

Stroller

Hi there,

Can anyone reccomend a printer/scanner/copier with built-in print-server AND
fax, please?

I really like the Canon Pixma series - I use their ip3000 printer-only at the
moment - but the MP800R does't have fax & the MP830 doesn't have networking.

Canon mention an MP830-compatible print-server on their website, made by a
company called "Silex" [2], but I can only find them at £110 (nearly $200!!)
in the UK [3] - for that money we could just buy a second printer, instead!!

I guess I've approached this by looking at colour inkjets, but I'm not adverse
to considering MFC faxes based on B&W or colour laser-printers, either, as
long as they have decent support for network (wired or wireless, it doesn't
matter) printing.

TIA for all suggestions,

Stroller.

I can recommend the HP 2840 (Color LaserJet All-in-One). Have used HP
at work for years and they seem very reliable. Just got this one a
week ago but price is now $150 less than a month ago.

Had a Brother MFC-9420CN, which had print issues (yellow was
intermittent) from the beginning and Brother International failed to
repair or assist.

The HP isn't as fast as some of the others but reliability has to be
worth something.

You can try a Canon MF5770(B&W) which has built in networking or the
MF8170/80C (Color)which is the same as the HP only no memeory card slots.

Monochrome laser: Brother MFC-7820N. Print straight to fax.

Color laser: Xerox just introduced one, $679.
