I was checking the local weather at wunderground.com, and a SpecificPOP
message appeared telling me that I won a free 42 inch plasma TV. I need
a new TV, so this seems great. Does anyone know if there is a catch, or
have I just been selected as a lucky winner of an item worth almost
$3,000?

I've seen the same popup on a different site.
"If it's seems to good to be true..."
I'm a major skeptic anyway, but this just seems to be a good way
to get you added to their mailing list that they can then sell
to others. I'm sure they come up with clever ways to make sure
you don't qualify for the tv or make it so incredibly hard to
complete the deal that you give up and go away. I've never heard
of anyone getting such killer deal. Has anyone? I'd like to know.
But any positive reply to my question would probably be coming from
a mole or troll sent by the "spammer" trying to convience us it's real.
You'd have to invite me over to your place for popcorn and movies on
your new TV before I would even say "ok, this MIGHT be legit"
But like I said, I'm a major skeptic and I wouldn't hand out free
info or $$$ to anyone for ANY tempting "popup" reason.
