Messenger

Windows Messenger appears everytime I open Outlook 2003. Is
there any way to eliminate this program? I do not use that
program. Thanks.
 
Windows messenger, or MSN Messenger? The former is a service that runs in
Windows NT-based operating systems. If you don't want MSN Messenger to show
up, go to tools | options - there's a tickbox.
 
Thanks. I cannot seem to locate the "tickbox". It says
"Windows Messenger" but it looks like MSN Messenger (2
little people). Can you be more specific on which box to
uncheck in Outlook 2003?
 
Tools, options, other....disable instant messaging.

I don't have OL2003 (I'm on 2002) but it should be there IIRC.
 
the options in 2003 are enable person smart tags and display status. Since I
use windows messenger, I can't say for sure unchecking these will prevent it
from loading. if not, he'll need to Google for instructions to remove or
prevent WM from loading in windows.
