Hello everybody,

Recently I'm not able to view www.msn.com or any site with the name msn. I
renewed my .NET passport, disabled the firewall but nothing seems to work.
When I ping www.msn.com I receive the answer: destination specified is
invalid and the IPnumber is 0.0.0.0. I've no problems with the internet
connection.
Any suggestions?

Greetings, Ton

Hi Ton,

Locate the HOSTS file (no extension) under C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
and open it in notepad. Look for a line referencing msn sites and remove it.

It's easy for a webhoster to disable outsiders from being able to ping
their sites so that's not an issue. Many webhosters do this to avoid
"ping DOS attacks".
