Messenger service popups

How do you stop the pop ups that come from the Messenger
Service in XP. Do you really have to pay for the removal
from one of the websites?

Only if you don't learn to use the tools given to you (in more ways than
one - search the web using Google, search the newsgroup for this same
questioned asked dozens of times daily, etc.. Use the built in firewall in
XP.. etc..)
