messaging interface / unknown error

William

I began receiving "The messaging interface has returned an unknown
error." today, during the normal course of using my system (no start
up, new software, et cetera). I have scoured my books, websites,
MS.com. No dice. I uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook 2003 twice.
Renamed outcmd and .srs. The only obvious problem at the moment is I
can not delete items from the Inbox without holding down the shift key.
When I go to Deleted Items, it is "Unable to display the folder.
Microsoft Office Outlook could not access the specified folder
location." Any thoughts? Thanks,

William

The most common solution proposed for this completely generic message is to
repair your PST and create a new profile. Why did you not try those? I doubt
other solutions can be posited since you have with no steps to repro your
problem.

I was unable to repair the PST. Multiple methods failed to access/find
file. Thank you anyway. I will figure it out on my own. Sorry to be
a bother.

It's not a bother. But it is a waste of time for both of us when you post no
information, which you've managed to do yet again.
