Messages appear bold even though they have been read

There are two people in my company whose email messages to me are always
bold. Once I have read the message, the envelope icon to the left of the
name indicates that the message has been read (the envelope is open) but the
display info (name, date, subject) are still bold. Upon a quick glance, it
looks like there are several unread emails in my inbox, when they've all been
read.

I've tried right-clicking and marking the messages as read; I've opened them
all again.

What is particularly bizarre is that this is occurring with only two names.

Please help!

Does the message actually count as Unread in the folder list?
If you right click on the message, does it show as Mark as Read or Mark as
Unread?

If I had to wager, you have configured some automatic formatting. If you go
to Tools - Organize, Using Colors and click Automatic Formatting, do any of
them appear to apply to messages from that recipient? Or in Rules, do you
have a rule set up to deal with mail from those two users?

A MILLION THANKS to you....You were right -- there were "rules" created for
those two coworkers, which indicated that all messages from them would
display as "Tahoma 10 pt bold" whether they'd been read or not. I deleted
those rules and now all is well.

Again, thanks.
