Message window does not close on Send

I've got an XP Pro SP3 computer running Office 2007 with all current updates
with the following problem. From Word you do Send as Email to attach the
document in a message. When you hit send the message is sent but the message
window does not close. If you select and differet window and come back to
the message window it no longer display the message and is either blank white
or displays the desktop backgroud. You have to X the message or close it on
the task bar. This same behavior does not occur when using the attchment
function from the message and sending.

Try running Office Diagnostics from the Help menu in either Outlook or Word
and see if that helps.

I have the identical issue and have tried a repair, updates and diagnostics
without success

I have the same problem and posted it just before I found this post. I have
searched the internet for a solution, without any luck.

Ditto. Have the same problem here. Even "auto-forwarding" a message with an
attachment triggers it. Often the only way to get rid of the offending
windows is to shutdown Outlook and restart it.
