Message question

How can I create a message on combo boxes, text boxes, etc, when the mouse
pointer is left on the boxes?
 
Right-click on it and select Properties, Go to the OTHER tab and enter the
text you desire in the "ControlTip Text" field.

This doesn't work. The status bar only displays the Control Tip Text when
you actually click the field - not when you hold the mouse pointer over the
field.

ControlTip text is displayed as a popup where the mouse cursor is. It is
never displayed in the StatusBar.
