Message Moving Rule - Non-specific character?

K

I am trying to set up a message moving rule that would run as follows:

(i) A specific word is in the subject line
(ii) These emails are moved from one Outlook Profile (one side of the company) to another.

The problem is, the Subject word in question will vary; that is, it is preceded by a code, let us say PDI, and then a reference number.

A particular Subject word might be, therefore, PDI11067, but the next might be PDI11068. Since there is no space in either reference word, just putting 'PDI' in the message rule does not work.

The question, then, is: is there a non-specific character that can be used in the message rule wizard (e.g. PDI*****, or PDI?????) that would move all messages with PDI<ref. no.> to another folder? Or is this something that would need to be done in VBA?

Any help is very much appreciated.

Hi,

I'm not sure if you're interested in a third party solution, but I think
our newest add-in, Incoming Mail Organizer, will handle this case for you.
It accepts wildcards in the filters, so the only caveat is moving the email
to the other profile. AFAIK, the only way to do this would be to create a
separate PST file that is loaded by both profiles.

Hope this helps!
