i'd swear i've been able to togle on and off the "sent:" and "to:"
informational area at the top of a message when "Current View" is set to
Messages, but now can not get it to turn off. did i dream this up or . . .

Right-click the column you don't want and choose "Remove This Column" or
simply switch your view to "Sent To"

i found the togle in the other settings dialog of the cutomize view: messages
dialog. in the reading pane section the hide header information must be
checked.
