Is it possible to merge the contents of 2 .PST files in order to have the
messages and Personal Folders, with unique manes, from each? If so, how?

You mean so you know which PST it came from?
You can "merge" by copying from one PST to another but nothing will
differentiate where data came from.
You can also just open different PST's which makes them accessible but keeps
data where it was..

Thank you for your reply but you make too many assumptions about my level of
knowledge. I don't want to copy one PST file over another and thereby
replace it. i want the data in both, ergo I used the term merge. You say I
can open different PSTs. How do I do that from within Outlook?

File | Open | Outlook Data File.

Once you have the two files open, you can copy (drag-and-drop) items
from one file to another. Use right-click drag-and-drop to select
between Move and Copy.

YOU are making too many assumptions.

I never mentioned about overwriting a PST!
You simply use File | Open and copy data from one PST to another.
