Merging contacts folders

Jason

Hi all,
I have a question for you guys. We have a global address
book here and some users want to add some of the people
that are in the global address book as a contact. Well,
whenever people move to other PC's they take their .pst
with them and so in turn take their old contacts. Now
whenever they add contacts from the global address book,
it automatically creates another contacts folder instead
of dropping the contact in the contact folder associated
with the .pst. So there's basically a new and an old
contact folder. How can I merge the contacts into one
contacts folder and also make it that whenever the user
adds another contact that it will put it in this contacts
folder rather than create a new one??? Thanks for your
help guys. -Jason

You have bigger problems than that. If you create a contact from the GAL, it will have the X.400 address, not the SMTP address, which will be useless if all the user has is a PST file. You need to use one of the methods listed at http://www.slipstick.com/exs/portagal.htm .
