Merging Calendars

K

Kelly

We are using Outlook 2002 w/Exchange. I have two
calendars created in the public folder for my department.
I want to merge the two calendars into one master calendar
in the same public folder. Here is what I have attempted.

I have created calendars called Calendar1, Calendar2, and
Master Calendar.

I click on Calendar1 and export the data to c1.pst file.
I click on Calendar2 and export the data to c2.pst file.
I click on Master Calendar and import it. Nothing shows
up in the Master Calendar.

The import prompt is confusing because it never gives me
the option to select Master Calendar to import to.

If you need more details, please email me and I will email
you my exact steps taken.

Thank you very much for your time.

IMO it would be easier for you to just drag and drop the items from one
calendar folder to the other. Switch to By Category view on the source
folder (which is an unfiltered list view), select all items using CTRL+A (or
select the items you want to move), and drag them to the destination folder.

Thank you Jocelyn. I think I will have to do it your
way. I was hoping for a way that would not bring in
duplicates. But, if I did this on a weekly basis, I could
copy the appts by date.

Thank you for your time on this.

You might want to check http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/sync.htm for some
possible synchronizing tools if this is going to be an ongoing process.
