Merge wirh Word

I'am able to merge my contacts to a Word (2000) doc . I even can make a
query in Word to select some of the records.
But when I use the query in Word then there are a few fields which you can
use for the query. Is there a way to select other fields from the outlook
addressbook. (e.g. category)

No. Mail merges cannot be filtered by category. To do that, start the merge
from Outlook and filter the view.
