The 2002 version of Word uses ODBC to connect to an Access database, not DDE
as all previous versions did. The wizard is not as fool-proof as before and
sometimes you'll need to try several times before it will work.
A suggestion to make it easier: Create a new document in Word. You can copy
the text (not the document) and create a brand new Word.doc with a new name
(name it back later, after deleting the old one) Then create a new merge on
the new document. Sometimes you'll have to do it several times, but it will
work if you persevere.
