Merge cells and wrapping of text

I have a worksheet with about 20 cells that are merged
together and have formated it so that the entire range can
accept text with automatic wrap around...so I thought.
However, when I enter sentences/paragraphs into this box,
the last two or three sentences from the bottom do
not 'wrap around'. I am running Excel 2000 and don't
understand why.

The text appears to be free from returns and such so it
should work...

Very confused.

Have you tried a text box covering the two cells, instead of merging them?

Yes I have used it in other files, but was trying this way
when this anomoly occured.

On its own, xl will show about 1000 characters in a cell. But if you add a few
alt-enters to force a new line within the cell, you can see lots more.

If your cell has lots of characters, you may want to try it.
