Merge a cell within a table

Hi-
I am trying to merge a cell within a table thru XP. I know you used to be
able to do that on Microsoft Word by clicking Table, then Merge cell. Thanx!
 
Are you referring to Microsoft Access XP, the desktop
database application? If so, then you really can't merge
them. It is not a spreadsheet, and wouldn't work like
that.

If it's something else you are referring to, please
explain yourself more fully.
