hi,

i have a modern looking application without the cotrolbox-bar because i've
created my own. i have a restore down button with an image that has a grey
background. if the user has a different XP style then the button will look
weird. how can i make the menustrip not change colour when the user of the PC
changes their XP style?

Have you tried retrieving the menu strip color at runtime? Does that match
what you have set in the designer?

What do you mean by the button looks weird - color, shape, etc?

hi,

well, the button has a grey background and i don't know how to tarnsparent
backgrounds for images. if the menustrip is blue (my XP style is silver at
the moment) then you will have a grey button. that looks weird

Most image programs let you make a transparent background without to much
trouble. I use Fireworks because its fast and simple. I export to a JPEG
and choose the background color for transparency. It is similar in
Photoshop.

I'm not clear on what you mean by menustrip. Is that something you've
created or some part of the form?

hi,

well the menustrip (aka mainmenu) is a control from the toolbox.

can you make transparent backgrounds in Microsoft Paint for WinXP?
