Menus won't stay open and 2 IE windows open when I start it

I started noticing some strange behaviour yesterday. When I start Internet
Explorer, one window opens and goes to my home page then a second window
opens but stays blank.

Also any menu I click, whether it is the stat menu or the menu at the top of
a program, will open then collapse immediately after clicking. It will stay
open if I hold the mouse button down. It also will stay open like normal if I
click the menu 2 or 3 times first.

Things also seem to respond slowly at times doing routine tasks.

I ran a scan using Norton AntiVirus and Ad-Aware but didn't find anything.

I'm not sure whats going on and have never seen this before. Any ideas would
be helpful.
 
Find and run Hijackthis by Merlin. Any questions what to remove post the report here.
