menubar gone from windows explorer

I'm running Windows XP Home on a Compac Presario5422RSH
w/Intel Pentuim 4 CPU. When I open windows explorer app,
the menu bar (Files...Edit...View...etc.) is gone. It was
there until about 3 wks ago. I'm continuously updating
and installing on this system, so I'm not sure exactly
what caused it to vanish. But I should be able to bring
it back w/o a major change to the way I've got things set
up now, shouldn't I?

See if this helps. This is the third post tonight of the same issue. Am
very curious to see/find if there is a social glue to this. If anything
comes to mind, please let me know and good luck!
