I have Windows XP Professional. When trying to access a drop-down menu, the
menu item won't show unless I drag my mouse over the area.

Example: If I right-click on the desktop, the "Active Desktop", "Arrange
Icons", "Line Up Icons", "Refresh", "Paste", Paste Shortcut", "New", and
"Properties" menu items do not show. Instead I get a faded outline box of
where the items should show. BUT if I scroll the mouse over the area, the
items appear.

PLEASE HELP!! Thank you in advance.

[[Symptom
When you open a folder window and click a menu, the drop-down appears but it
may be completely transparent, and thus the Menu text may be invisible until
you hover the Mouse pointer over the sub-menu.]]

Likely an incorrect video driver has been installed. Has it ever worked
correcty? If no, go download the one for your card from the card
manufacturers web site and install it. If this is a recent change, go to
Device manager, display adapter Properties, and Roll back the driver to
the version that was working.

The previous replys worked. The video driver was functioning correctly.
Thank you for your willingness to help.

This worked. Thanks!
