You guys that have helped me in the past are great. You
have made my life a great deal easier.

I have a large estimating spreadsheet with many macros
that was created in Excel 4. It had a menu editor that
allowed you to add items to the menu bar. I have upgraded
to 97 and then to 2000. I no longer need the menu items I
added in Excel 4. If you use Custonize to delete them they
come back the next time you start the estimating program.
I loaded Excel 4 and then deleted them with the Menu
Editor. I tried to load the program back in 2000.. It
really screwed up everything and made the program
unworkable.

Any other way to delete them?

Excel 5.0 and earlier used the "Menu Editor" to build menus. This is no
longer available in versions newer than 5.0. You can't use the "delete"
method or "reset" to get rid of the custom menu items(as you have learned).

To get rid of the custom menu download Jim Rech's REMOVEMENUS.ZIP file from
Stephen Bullen's site. See instructions and d/l file from:
