Memory usage by XP

I have XP Home SP2. My motherboard supports up to 4GB of RAM. I just
install the full 4GB and if I click my computer>properties, I get that I
have 3.3 GB. The memory appears to be installed correctly, I have check it
with a diag. and it checks out fine but why won't XP SP2 see all 4GB

As the cost of memory goes down, this question becomes more common. See
